Experience · 40 years combined

The whole stack, layer by layer.

Every layer below still runs somewhere in your business. Our team includes people who have built, architected and led programs in each of them, so together we know how a decision in one changes the others.

1980s →

C & Unix

Where we started. Systems engineering in C and C++ on UNIX, HP-UX, Sun Solaris and Linux, alongside mainframe environments.

Software that runs for decades is designed with failure, recovery and business continuity in mind. That discipline still shapes our architecture work.

1990s →

C++

Performance at scale. Distributed, high-volume systems, including fixed-income trading platforms with messaging infrastructure built for throughput and reliability.

Much of this code is still in production. We can assess it, plan its future, and modernize it safely.

Late 1990s →

Java & .NET

The enterprise era. Java, Spring Boot, C# and .NET on WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss and Tomcat, with JMS messaging, REST APIs and microservices. Oracle, PostgreSQL and MongoDB underneath.

Our engineers have led Java, .NET and Oracle modernization programs, including database migrations from Oracle to MongoDB.

2000s →

Enterprise Architecture

Seeing the whole system. Enterprise and solution architecture, technology standards, architecture governance and roadmaps across large application portfolios.

Enterprise data platforms too: data warehousing, data virtualization, Hadoop, Cloudera, Azure Synapse and Snowflake.

2010s →

AWS · Azure · Google Cloud

Cloud and DevSecOps. Azure Landing Zones, AWS Control Tower, Terraform and Kubernetes, with CI/CD on Jenkins, Harness, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy and GitHub.

Cloud governance and FinOps for large cloud budgets, so every workload earns its cost.

2020s →

AI

Where we are now. Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search and RAG architectures. Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and GitHub Copilot rolled out with governance.

AI governance, responsible use and intelligent automation. It’s also why we’re building StructureIQ.

Nine practices. One team.

Clarity Software brings together architects, engineers, data and AI specialists, and program leaders. Each practice has its own depth, and every engagement draws on the ones it needs.

What forty years teaches you.

These habits shape every engagement, whatever the stack.

Understand before you replace.

The legacy system is usually running the business. Know what it does before you decide its future.

Use proven tech for important things.

Reliable infrastructure under critical workloads. New technology where it earns its place.

Your cloud bill is your architecture.

Every design decision shows up on the invoice. We design with the invoice in mind.

AI is only as good as its sources.

Clean documents, governed data and clear controls matter more than the model.

Deliver in slices people can use.

Each release should create value on its own, not wait for the end of a program.

Leave the team stronger.

Our practitioners document, mentor and hand over, so your organization owns what comes next.

Non-profit work.

We bring the same enterprise discipline to mission-driven organizations: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Power Platform, AppSheet, Salesforce, WordPress, Stripe and Google Analytics, connected and governed on a non-profit budget.
